Building teams, crafting jewellery

Jewellery workshops for creative teams in Bristol

Collaborative creativity

Jewellery workshops are a great activity for work groups, small business or volunteer staff parties, team building activities, and a lovely way to bring remote workers together.

Whether you’re in a large corporation or a small community group; building skills and expressing creativity provides a creative space that can fuel ideas and discussions that bring people closer together and inspire positive working relationships.

In a world where so much work is online and on computers, doing something physical, practical and creative is a breath of fresh air. It gives colleagues something fun and tactile to focus on while being social together and coming away with a satisfying piece of jewellery.

Creating something precious using hammers, tools and raw materials is a real dopamine hit and a memorable activity for everyone involved.

How it works

Contact us directly to book your team building experience.

We will need an idea of how many in your group and what jewellery you are hoping to make. However if you’re not sure we are happy to talk you through it the options of what’s possible and what might suit everyones tastes.

Once we know numbers and jewellery items we will release a booking invoice for the total amount of time up front and paying this secures your date.

Materials can be pre-paid for so that you have nothing to worry about on the day, or we can charge each person depending on what they use on the day. Whatever works best for your group.

We provide snacks and teas and coffees.

Jewellery party ideas at Silver & Steel

Make a silver pendant

Use piercing saws and pre-prepared design templates to cut out a shape in silver and solder a jump ring and bale before attaching to a chain.

Make a silver ring

The best seller for a reason. You can even stamp the special date into the inside. Personalise with stamps and texture.

Themed to your workplace

Work in hospitality? We can cast coffee beans or make a cocktail themed piece of jewellery. Tech startup? We can design an element that suits your workplace. A group of potters? We can make a small silver spoon to add to your crockery.

Carve a thing

Use wax to carve something sculptural and more 3d. Signet rings or charms are perfect ideas for wax carving.

Forging with fire

Everyone in the team brings a small item like a shell, acorn or found item, and we cast them together into silver or gold using sandcasting. These can then be made into jewellery.

Gemstone extravanganza

Choose your gemstone and make rings, earrings or pendants. We can even source Lab Grown Diamonds and you can make a diamond charm for cufflinks, bracelets or necklaces.

Make a silver bangle

Make either an open torque cuff bangle or a closed soldered bangle and personalise with stamps and texture.

Matching name or word tags

Perfect for workplaces where you have a saying or in-joke. Stamp or cut the word out from sheet and make into a necklace. This is great for a leaving party as a momento for a group of work friends.

Or your idea...

Send us your inspiration and we'll see if we can plan a jewellery workshop to match!

From our customers

“My husband and I made our wedding rings with Beth and it was so much fun! It was clear that Beth had put lots of thought into making the workshop really special. Neither of us had any jewellery making experience, but Beth patiently took us through every step and we both love the rings which we made with her. We would highly recommend the wedding ring making workshop and we look forward to giving other workshops at Silver & Steel a go!”
Annie & Alistair
“My partner and I did the silver ring making workshop at Silver and Steel and absolutely loved it. The studio is lovely and well-equipped, Rosy was a kind, patient and knowledgeable teacher, and the finished rings we came away with are so special. We got to do the majority of the work ourselves unlike other workshops I’ve been to which made it even more rewarding!”
Amy Focic
“Selling my work through Silver & Steel has been a fantastic experience. As an independent designer in the early stages of my career it has provided a great opportunity to connect with a wider range of customers. They have the chance to see my work in a real-life gallery setting and also to try on, which is key in the jewellery selling process. This has made a significant difference to my sales this year! Beth is a great champion for local designers, and I’m excited to continue my collaboration with the studio.”
Lindsay McDonagh
“My daughter has been physically ill since May and on top of that she has had exceptionally poor mental health. She has been struggling so much that she hasn’t been able to do anything at all. Yesterday was the first activity she has done since May and you made the whole experience and atmosphere so relaxed, supportive, accommodating and welcoming. She felt safe enough to talk to you, ask questions and get involved in doing something new. I can’t tell you how amazing it was for me to see and gave me such hope that things can & will get better for her. Honestly, you & Rebecca have been the FIRST non-family members she has felt able to talk to in 6 months and it is a huge, huge credit to you and the environment you have created. Thank you doesn’t seem enough… words don’t do it justice!! I am certain that you will see her/ us again!”

“Something I struggled with previously in Bristol was a lack of a community around jewellery. With the gallery exhibitions, talks, CPD workshops and the resident community I have found a space to learn, grow and have super geeky conversations about all things contemporary jewellery and life”
Rebecca Enderby
“What Beth has designed and put in place at Silver & Steel Studios is a vibrant, exciting and nurturing workshop and gallery which is accessible to all. Beth is a powerhouse whose enthusiasm and energy is contagious and truly inspirational.”
Holly Forester Jewellery
“Flexible space, available when I am. Friendly fellow silversmiths who share their experience and crafting knowledge. A gallery for completed work. A fantastic owner with a brilliant vision for all aspects of jewellery, jewellery making and spreading the word of jewellery!”
John Kelly
“We all left with something totally unique and beautiful that we were really pleased with, and had a great time doing it. Thanks so much, we would definitely come again”
Kath M
“I learned a tremendous amount. It was a small, informal group, with a very nice atmosphere which was supportive and creative. The shop itself is an inspiration”
Chris
“The whole experience was relaxed, creative, and so rewarding — and we left with beautiful rings that we made ourselves! I’ve already recommended Silver and Steel to everyone I know”
Lucy E
“Everyone at the venue is obviously concerned with making the place accessible and inclusive to as many people as possible. Silver & Steel has been set-up with the best possible access in mind.”
