Lindsay McDonagh is a resident at Silver & Steel and makes jewellery designed to catch the light. Her work brings a little bit of sunshine to your everyday wear regardless of the weather and it shimmers and moves with you.
Bracelets, necklaces and earrings are usually made using a combination of sterling silver and rolled gold or 'gold fill' which gives the warm lustrous tones of gold without the solid gold price tag. Rolled gold is mechanically bonded to last much longer than plating. Lindsay hand fabricates all of her pieces, individually hammering small petals of metal and painstakingly attaching them using cold connections.
Lindsay completed an Art Foundation in Birmingham, a BA Hons in Interior Architecture and has a Master of Arts from Kingston University, London. She has exhibited her jewellery at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery and is a graduate member of Design Nation.
